April has an MA in Pastoral Counseling and Spiritual Formation from Columbia International University, Columbia, South Carolina. She is specially trained to better understand human response to, and God's work through suffering. She brings a general understanding of clinical diagnoses and the resulting symptoms. This allows her to make useful referrals when clinical specialty is needed, and to partner with clinical practitioners for a more holistic healing and growth process.

As a spiritual director, she utilizes attunement, confidential containment, and attentive listening to cultivate trust and safety within directee relationships. She integrates art and spiritual practices to the sessions, and to homework, to help individuals share their story; and to discover, identify and express emotions and beliefs that may be barriers for healing and growth. She empowers the directee to apply biblical principles to the complex areas of their lives and to patiently form meaning to their lives as they grow in faith which brings comfort to the past, and vision for the future.
